Is SC Paint a program? I really want to get some more fractal programs and some tutorials so I can do pictures like yours and I'm especially interested in making fractal flowers. I have been mainly working with KPT and Paint Shop Pro but the other day I got Chaotica 1.1, Mandebulber and XaoS. I want do get better results with my programs and more control over my work. These programs have instructions but they are kind of vague I've been just playign with them to see what happens. For your Stawberry fields did you use any other programs to get your final effect, I don't mean to be nosy but I really want to become a better artist. Thanks.
Hi. First, SC Paint is a plugin filter for the Apophysis fractal program. Here's a pretty good explanation of Apophysis, with links: www.deviantart.com/journal/Apo….
I find Apophysis much easier to use than Chaotica, Mandelbulb, or XaoS, and the plugins available are many. There are two Apophysis programs. The original, version 2.09, and the updated one a user decided to design himself, version 7X.
Thanks. I downloaded the Apophysis 7 and got two versions when I unzipped the program 7X and 7X 64. The 7X64 says it's not compadable with my system (I'm running Vista) the other says there is a file missing and I should reinstall the program. This missing file message cannot be closed and I have to shut my computer down to make it close. I went to uninstall the program and cannot find it under my other programs. It never did seem it install, I thought it came with an installer. The files were just there. I did manage to download the Apophysis 2.9. It works okay but freezes up alot. It did'nt have any plugins and didn't seem to have any 3D settings. What version do you use and can I get the results you have with the 2.9? My version likes to freeze up when I try to randomize.
What I've been using is KPT FraxFlame and FraxPlorer. Thanks again for helping me. I need all the help I can get.
I'm really not the person to ask, since I'm not an expert. The Apophysis groups are probably where to go to get better help. Specifically: apophysis.deviantart.com/
What I personally think is going on is a conflict with other programs or Vista itself. The program should have installed, if you downloaded an .exe install file. If you downloaded a zip file, and you just upzipped the files and program .exe to your folders, then the only way to "uninstall" is to delete the program folder. Other than that, I'm not sure what's going on--aside from the fact that you're using Vista, which (for me) was buggy as hell. I used Win XP sp3, tried Vista(deleted it and started over), and now have Win 7 64-bit (although I run the 32-bit Apophysis). I don't have any issues with the 32-bit on my Win 7 system.
